OER Handbook
The Faculty Support Center and the College Libraries have teamed up to provide you with this handbook. It is designed to supply Cochise College faculty and staff with the resources needed to successfully adopt, adapt, and/or develop an Open Educational Resource.
OERs have unique legal and pedagogical considerations that should be clear to adopters, developers, and users. Understanding and working within these parameters ensures a better quality product for students and protects the college from time and money lost on improper sources or procedures.
We envision this as a living document - an embodiment of open source materials. We encourage user contributions as our collective skills and knowledge grow and as our needs at Cochise College evolve.
