Setting Up the F2F Classroom
In Person Instruction
Before Class

Prepare materials for screen display. If PPT, use six lines of text or less per slide.

Limit each slide to one high quality image or graphic per slide, avoiding clipart.

Employ no more than two different sans-serif fonts at minimum 30-point font.

Use consistent, purposeful transitions and animations.
-
Prepare text narration and include it in slide notes for your own reference.

Compress media file size including audio and pictures for faster loading.
Starting Class

Display Slide Show on the auxiliary monitor. Use the “Swap the Presenter view and Slide Show” option in the Display Settings, if needed to make things easier for you to view.
During Class

Employ principles of good presenting.

Narrate an engaging story around key points, data, and images.

Communicate and refer back to a consistent organizational structure.

Signal a clear hierarchy of ideas using visual and verbal emphasis.

Use data visualization whenever possible – a picture is worth 1000 words!

Provide appropriate graphic organizers for focused notetaking & retention.

Assign students things to take particular note of for discussion & activities.
After Class

Some instructors post their slides and classroom materials to Moodle or other access points for students to review. Please make sure materials are accessible, i.e. videos have captions edited for meaning and punctuation, etc.
