Online Combo Teaching
The Faculty Support Center Instructional Design team is happy to provide you with information about teaching online combo courses. It is designed to help you with the resources needed to successfully develop and lead online courses that meet both college, student, and your needs.
The online combo course requires the engagement skills of synchronous virtual teaching and the course delivery skills of fully online asynchronous instruction. It relies on a well-equipped video recording space, working classroom technology, and a repertoire of ways to keep people engaged and on-task with you and other classmates who are all in remote locations.
This LibGuide shows the characteristics of online combo virtual courses, outlines best practices derived through empirical research, and provides practical guidance for teaching both in real time and in completely asynchronous environments that is useful for all kinds of faculty.
