Borrowing Materials:
The Cochise College Libraries are open to the public. Cochise County residents may register as public users to browse the collection and use public access computers; they may also join the Friends of the Cochise College Libraries in order to borrow materials and have access to Interlibrary Loan services.
Borrowing privileges are reserved for the following groups. Types of materials allowed and duration of checkouts vary.
Off-campus access to subscription databases and electronic books is available only to current Cochise College students and employees as per our licensing agreements.
Library Fines & Fees:
Cochise College Libraries charge fines for overdue materials, damaged materials, and lost items.
Fines:
There is a 7-day grace period for overdue books and media items. If items are not returned within the grace period, fines are retroactive to the first overdue date.
Fees:
Lost or damaged item: Cost of item + $10 processing fee
Please Note: In the case of rare or out-of-print items, patrons may be billed the replacement cost of the item rather than the original price. Users are responsible for damages to or theft of Library materials they have checked out.
Other fees:
Suspension of Privileges:
Students with fines above $5 may not check out any materials until all outstanding fines are cleared but may use a computer in the Library. Access to digital library resources are always available to students, staff, and faculty regardless of library account status.
Fines not cleared in a timely manner will be transferred to the Cochise College Business Office. Students with Business Office restrictions will have to clear their record before library privileges can be reinstated.
Faculty and staff members must return or renew any overdue items before checking out additional materials.
Non-Cochise College affiliates with fines or overdue materials may not check out materials or use a computer in the Library until all outstanding fines or overdue fees are cleared.
